Scenario 31 - Is it Time to Go?

Updated: May 29, 2021

It's been 4 years since the collapse and your family and friends family have successfully been able to ride out this hell.

A small government has started to take shape with a mission to rebuild society. They are offering food, water, and protection to people from "the horrors out in the wilderness" as they put it. The problem is they are a communistic style group who are said to use violence, threats, and hard labor to get their way.

Everything you know about this new about this new regime has all been through word of mouth though, you haven't actually seen any of this yourself. You have no real clue what's up from down.

The conundrum right now is that the seasons have been getting progressively worse and the last few in particular have been extremely hard on your food supplies. You've dealt with unpredictable weather, pests, and run-ins with other groups. You start to think that maybe seeking out this government could be good for your wife and 3 kids (15, 12, 3, yes you had a kid during the collapse, get over it). Your faith in your family's ability to weather the storm is fading. You also think of the horrible stories about this government and aren't too sure if it's worth the hype.

  • Supplies: Ammo and food are both getting very low.

  • Risks: You've had more run-ins with raider groups the last year than previous years.

Your next door neighbors have been instrumental in your families survival over the last 4 years. You've grown incredibly close and rely on them as they rely on you. Their family consists of husband, wife and two kids (13, 12). You share chores, cooking, gardening, watch duties, baby-sitting, and hunt together. Major decisions are made as a group. Everyone met to speak about what to do and the families share strongly conflicting opinions on the matter.

What's your move?
